Kelly Abrams holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Master's degree in Education with a specialization in Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio.
During her time at Berklee, Kelly gained invaluable practical experience in various healthcare and educational settings. Her dedication to her craft led her to work in diverse environments such as schools, nursing homes, adult psychiatric facilities, and in-patient pediatrics. It was during this period that Kelly discovered her passion for using music as a therapeutic tool to enhance the lives of individuals facing various challenges.
Upon completing her degree, Kelly embarked on a fulfilling journey by taking on a music therapy clinical internship with Fulton County Schools in Georgia. This experience solidified her commitment to empowering individuals with Autism spectrum disorder and Emotional/behavioral disorders through her music therapy expertise.
In 2019, Kelly accepted a role as a music therapist with the Georgia Network of Therapeutic Supports, a program dedicated to serving students with complex needs. It was here that she was introduced to the world of applied behavior analysis (ABA), recognizing its potential to create lasting positive change in the lives of her clients. Driven by her ambition to make a more profound impact, Kelly decided to pursue her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
In 2022, Kelly joined the behavior support team, where her organizational skills, time management abilities, and dedication to delivering high-quality work quickly became evident. Her relentless pursuit of excellence led to a promotion to Behavior Specialist in the initial stages of the 2023-2024 school year. She successfully completed her supervision hours and earned her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in December 2023.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Kelly's interests reflect her passion for challenge and creativity. She enjoys rock climbing, horseback riding, and scuba diving, embracing each activity as an opportunity to push her boundaries and learn new skills. Kelly is also an accomplished musician, playing the harp and piano. She finds immense joy in creating beautiful melodies and sharing her love for music with others. Above all, Kelly cherishes the time spent with her family and her boyfriend, relishing the moments of connection and laughter.
Kelly's journey from a music therapist to a Board Certified Behavior Analyst is a testament to her resilience, organization, time management, and unwavering dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.
